Connectivity
Starlink, installed properly
Satellite broadband for the places fibre has not reached, and for sites that need a second line that does not share a hole in the ground with the first.
Where it earns its keep
What installation actually involves
The dish needs clear sky in the right arc, which is rarely where it is convenient to put it. We survey for obstructions, mount it somewhere it will survive a winter, route the cable properly, and put it behind your own router so it joins the network you already have rather than becoming a second one.
The honest limits
- Trees matter. A branch in the wrong place is a dropout, and trees grow.
- Latency is higher than fibre. Fine for most things, noticeable on some.
- It is a monthly subscription with the hardware on top — worth comparing against a leased line before assuming.
