Water damage is the most common way that the microphones in your OnePlus 3T can get damaged, whether it be from dropping your phone into water or steam getting into the microphone locations. They can also be damaged by general wear and tear or dust.
The OnePlus 3T actually has two microphones, one at the bottom and one at the top. If one of the microphones is damaged, it will likely be affecting your phone calls.
A typical OnePlus 3T microphone replacement will typically take around 30 - 45 minutes, during which time we will take the phone apart, replace the damaged microphone with a new one and test the sound levels to ensure everything is working properly.
